RNC CONVENTION MARCH IN NYC Sunday August 29, 2004

Participants in the pre-Republican Convention protest march to say "No to the Bush Agenda" are shown
prior to boarding the train to New York on Sunday morning, August 29. They joined the North Shore
contingent which began in Port Washington and grew in numbers as they reached the city. Once in the city,
they became part of the 500,000 protesters from nay parts of the country who peacefully demonstrated
against the Bush policies on the war in Irq, the environment, women's rights, cuts in services for veterans,
tax breaks for the wealth, and attacks on our civil liberties.
"It was inspiring to see so many people, young and old, putting their bodies on the line to protest these issues.
Despite the heat, it was energizing," said Stan Romaine, Chair of Great Neck SANE/Peace Action, who
organize the North Shore delegation.
