Peace Action Fund of New York State

The Peace Action Fund of New York State is a non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)3 organization. We are dedicated to promoting the non-violent resolution of conflict, the abolition of nuclear weapons, halting the global spread of conventional arms, building a human rights culture and supporting human needs instead of militarism. We pursue these goals through the production and dissemination of educational materials for the public, activists and policy makers, as well as through community organizing initiatives and public outreach.

The Campus Organizing Program

The Campus Organizing Program is the keystone program of Peace Action Fund of New York State. As part of the program, student organizers establish campus-recognized Peace Action chapters on their college campuses, organize their peers to take action on issues of peace and justice, and organize events and virtual seminars. Student organizers become part of a statewide network of young peacemakers who are youth leaders in shaping U.S. foreign policy.

The Annual

William Sloane Coffin, Jr.
Peacemaker Awards

Since 2007, Peace Action Fund of New York State has presented an annual award to outstanding individuals who “stay on the stony, long and ofttimes lonely road that leads to peace.” The William Sloane Coffin, Jr. Award is presented to an activist who has exemplified activism and made an impact in achieving a more peaceful world.

Peace Action Fund of New York State also presents the Don Shaffer Student Peacemaker Award congratulating an outstanding student chapter on their work and leadership in peace education and activism within their community and amongst their peers.
